AirTrunk breaks ground on 40+MW phase of TOK1, Japan’s largest hyperscale data centre campus.

AirTrunk has broken ground on a 40+MW phase of TOK1, Japan’s largest hyperscale data centre campus at 300+MW total capacity.

A traditional jichinsai Shinto groundbreaking ceremony was held to bless the land and ensure safe, successful construction. The ceremony was attended by AirTrunk’s Country Head, Japan, Nori Matsushita and Chief Development Officer Paul Slaven alongside key partners in construction, design, and power infrastructure.

This new development brings continued investment, jobs, and innovation to the Tokyo region. TOK1 together with AirTrunk’s other two Japan data centres (TOK2 in Western Tokyo and OSK1 in Osaka), is powering the future of cloud and artificial intelligence in Japan, bringing over 430MW of total capacity.
