AirTrunk’s Chief Financial & Commercial Officer, Prashant Murthy joined the ‘How to make Tech/AI Sustainable’ panel at the 15th anniversary of Crédit Agricole CIB’s Global Sustainable Finance Conference in Paris.
Attended by over 500 participants from 12 countries, Prash, along with fellow panellists, discussed the need for collaboration between the tech and energy sectors to ensure our shared digital future is sustainable.
Prash highlighted that centralised data centres use substantially less energy when compared to on-premise servers. He also shared how data centres can help catalyse the energy transition, with long-term power purchase agreements providing investment certainty for renewable energy projects, and the adoption of Battery Energy Storage Systems supporting grid stabilisation.
Pointing to AirTrunk’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2030, Prash also highlighted how the business is ensuring accountability through energy, water and carbon efficiency performance metrics embedded in AirTrunk’s sustainable financing framework. AirTrunk’s sustainable finance also supports social and governance practices, with a social impact program funded by margin incentives from AirTrunk’s Sustainability Linked Loans. This unique approach ensures circularity is ingrained in our ambitions.
