AirTrunk’s Chief Financial and Commercial Officer, Prashant Murthy joined HSBC’s Global Investment Summit in Hong Kong on a panel discussion titled: Data Centres Driving AI: The Infrastructure of a Technological Revolution.
Prash was joined by fellow panellists, Kathleen McCarthy Baldwin, Global Co-Head of Real Estate, Blackstone and Selina Yuan, President, Alibaba Group Cloud Intelligence International, along with panel moderator, Sir Danny Alexander, CEO of Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability, HSBC.
The discussion focused on the increasing demand for data centres driven by AI and cloud adoption, capital investment trends, the evolution of data centres as an asset class and the outlook for growth in the region.
Sharing insights across those topics Prash highlighted AirTrunk’s innovative sustainable financing and the evolution and outlook of capital markets to support the data centre sector, AirTrunk’s prudent approach to expansion as well as the markets in the region we see as highest potential, and how data centres can catalyse energy transition; highlighting in particular AirTrunk’s Net Zero commitment and achievement of 74% of electricity consumption matched with renewable energy at our data centres, as well as other innovations including battery energy storage systems (BESS) opportunities to support the transition to clean energy.
