On the eve of Climateweek, AirTrunk is progressing our ongoing commitment towards 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE) across our data centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia and Japan. Climate Group recently captured the works we have been doing in this article: https://lnkd.in/gpmhQggB.
One of the key technology enablers highlighted here is granular data and digital tools. We took one step forward through our recent partnership with Flexidao, a software intelligence platform, to establish the foundations for 24/7 CFE across our operating facilities in the region.
Through Flexidao, AirTrunk is streamlining the management of critical datasets, and applying the 24/7 Carbon-Free Coalition’s Technical Guidance to demonstrate the practical steps companies in Asia-Pacific can take to gain deeper insights into their energy use and related emissions, even when facing challenges in local energy markets. This collaboration positions AirTrunk among the first hyperscale operators in Asia-Pacific to apply this level of rigor to its clean energy commitments
Why it matters:
▪️ Drives local renewable investment and promotes clean firming beyond wind and solar
 ▪️ Enables real-time emissions insights
▪️ Raises the bar for data centre sustainability
Katherine Tjandra, Director – Energy Transition at AirTrunk explains: “We recognise achieving 24/7 in APAC is a journey, and we have started this in 2023 by contracting the first hourly matching project in APAC and launching a technology pathway report for our markets. We’re going further to clean energy, every hour – like wearing a 24/7 health tracker. Hourly clean energy matching drives real-time accountability, smarter grid design, and faster renewable deployment. This is how we turn our climate ambition into action.”
