AirTrunk has topped out the second phase of our Western Tokyo data centre, TOK2 with a special jotoshiki topping out ceremony.
The ceremony included rituals to spiritually purify the building, paving the way for smooth operations ahead. The topping out beam was then signed by the construction participants and lifted by a crane and incorporated into the building.
Guests included AirTrunk’s Head of Japan, Nori Matsushita and representatives from key partners involved in the construction, design, and power supply for TOK2.
Scalable to over 110 megawatts, TOK2 will be one of the largest data centres in the country, joining AirTrunk’s other data centres in Japan (TOK1 and OSK1) to support growing demand from large technology companies. With sustainability and energy efficiency at the forefront, TOK2 has a design PUE of 1.15 and will utilise highly efficient direct air-free cooling.

式典には、AirTrunk日本代表の松下典弘を始めとする、TOK2の建設、設計、電力供給に関わる主要なパートナー企業の代表者が出席しました。神道の作法に則って建築物を清める儀式を行い、今後の円滑な運用を祈願しました。その後、式典出席者が署名した上棟梁がクレーンで建物上部に組み込まれました。
国内最大級のデータセンターの一つとなるTOK2は、110MW以上の電力容量を提供予定です。
TOK2は、AirTrunkの他の日本国内データセンター（TOK1およびOSK1）と共に、大手テクノロジー企業の拡大しつつある需要を支えます。TOK2の設計は持続可能性とエネルギー効率を重視しており、PUE1.15を実現し、効率的なダイレクトエアフリークーリング方式を採用しています。
