{"id":12372,"date":"2023-10-17T07:42:04","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T20:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev1.webat.dev\/?p=12372"},"modified":"2024-12-19T15:26:10","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T04:26:10","slug":"airtrunk-expands-in-japan-with-new-data-centre-development-in-osaka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/airtrunk.com\/zh-hans\/airtrunk-expands-in-japan-with-new-data-centre-development-in-osaka\/","title":{"rendered":"AirTrunk expands in Japan with new data centre development in Osaka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>OSK1 will be AirTrunk\u2019s third<\/strong><strong> data centre in Japan and first outside of the Tokyo region<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Asia Pacific &amp; Japan (APJ) hyperscale data centre specialist, <a href=\"https:\/\/airtrunk.com\/\"><strong>AirTrunk<\/strong><\/a> is rapidly expanding its hyperscale data centre platform in Japan with the announcement of its first data centre development in Osaka.<\/p>\n<p>Scalable to over 20 megawatts (MW), AirTrunk OSK1 (OSK1) is strategically located in west Osaka and will provide regional diversity in a new major availability zone, complementing the company\u2019s existing Japan data centres in east and west Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p>Collectively, AirTrunk will offer more than 430MW of capacity across its three data centres in the country, servicing some of the world\u2019s largest technology companies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AirTrunk Founder &amp; Chief Executive Officer, Robin Khuda<\/strong>, said: \u201cA surge in artificial intelligence applications and enterprise cloud adoption is driving huge demand for critical digital infrastructure in key markets across Japan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe addition of OSK1 to our portfolio will firmly cement AirTrunk as a trusted market leader in hyperscale data centres and demonstrate our unwavering commitment to supporting Japan\u2019s digital future. AirTrunk\u2019s data centres, strategically located in Japan\u2019s two primary hubs in Tokyo and Osaka, are enabling our large cloud customers to scale in the region,\u201d Mr Khuda said.<\/p>\n<p>OSK1 will be powered by a dedicated onsite 77kV substation, improving both reliability and efficiency. In line with AirTrunk\u2019s commitment to Net Zero by 2030, the new data centre is designed to an industry low power usage effectiveness and offers renewable sourcing options to customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AirTrunk Head of Japan, Nori Matsushita <\/strong>said: \u201cIn less than two years, we have opened two hyperscale data centres and today announce a third development in Japan. As we expand our platform beyond Tokyo into another primary data centre hub in Osaka, we will continue to deliver digital infrastructure that is both scalable and sustainable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe development and ongoing operations of OSK1 will have a positive impact on the local economy, generating new jobs, enabling public cloud growth, fostering sustainable innovation, and contributing to the local community.\u201d Mr Matsushita said.<\/p>\n<p>OSK1 will be financed through the company\u2019s incremental sustainable financing in Japan, maintaining AirTrunk\u2019s linkage to ESG across all its financing platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The facility will be the company\u2019s 11th data centre in the APJ region that also includes data centres in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Collectively the platform will offer more than 1.4 gigawatts (GW) across the region.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement follows AirTrunk\u2019s recent new development announcements, HKG2, its second data
