AirTrunk appoints Chief Development Officer

AirTrunk today announced the appointment of Mr Paul Slaven as its Chief Development Officer.

Mr Slaven joins AirTrunk from Amazon, where he held the position of Senior Construction Manager since early 2014. Prior to his time at Amazon, Mr Slaven was Project Manager at Equinix.

Mr Slaven has delivered some of the most sophisticated, fast paced, large scale and critical facilities in the Asia Pacific region. His experience includes responsibility for the development, design and construction of world class data centres from concept through to completion. Mr Slaven will leverage this experience to support AirTrunk’s rapid growth across the Asia Pacific region, building fast, innovative, high quality, cost effective and scalable solutions for its clients.

Reporting to AirTrunk Founder and Chief Executive Officer Mr Robin Khuda, Mr Slaven will be responsible for the identification and sourcing of properties across Asia Pacific for development as data centres. He will also be responsible for the delivery of industry leading energy efficiency designs, as well as the expansion and management of the construction of AirTrunk’s facilities throughout the region.

“Additionally, Paul’s understanding of the customer’s perspective is fundamental to our business, ensuring we develop our facilities in a way that best supports our customer’s commercial objectives and growth requirements.

“Paul will join our recently appointed Technical Director Leo Chen from Alibaba group and combine their extensive market knowledge of site selection to support our business as it continues to grow and develop across the Asia Pacific region,” Mr Khuda said.

AirTrunk remains on track for operational commencement of its Sydney and Melbourne data centres in Q3 2017.
