Robin Khuda inducted into the CommsDay Hall of Fame

Congratulations to our Founder & CEO Robin Khuda who has been inducted into the Communications Day (CommsDay) Hall of Fame for his contribution to the Australian telecommunications industry.

The AirTrunk journey began in 2015 when Robin saw the huge growth potential for data centres off the back of organisations moving to cloud at an accelerated rate. In 2017, AirTrunk launched its flagship 130+MW data centre in Western Sydney in 2017 and hasn’t looked back. Today, AirTrunk is the largest hyperscale data centre provider in Asia Pacific & Japan (by megawatts), accelerating digitalisation across the region.

Robin said: “AirTrunk took the first mover advantage and pioneered hyperscale data centres in the Asia Pacific & Japan region, offering unmatched scale, speed, efficiency and reliability to support this unprecedented growth.”

“While I continue to be proud of what AirTrunk has achieved as a business, I’m most grateful for the opportunities that leading AirTrunk has given me to develop the next generation of tech talent and bring more women into the industry.”

CEO & Editorial Director of CommsDay, Grahame Lynch, said: “We recognised Robin for his largely unheralded achievement in building a hyperscale data centre company spreading across the Asia Pacific from an Australian base. There are relatively few Australian success stories in the Asia Pacific comms industry but Robin definitely personifies one.”
