A collaboration between AirTrunk, SOURCE Global and Rural Aid is helping provide access to reliable clean drinking water for Areyonga School, in the heart of Australia’s Northern Territory.
Funded through AirTrunk’s social impact program, the solar-powered hydropanel technology produces up to 50 litres of clean water from the air every day. For the students and teachers at Areyonga School, it’s more than just access to clean drinking water – it’s a healthier and more sustainable future.
The solution also removes the need for bottled drinks, cutting down on waste and transport emissions – a win for both people and the planet.
AirTrunk’s VP Marketing and Corporate Communications Lise Kay said: “Access to clean drinking water is essential for the students’ health, ability to learn and reach their full potential. It was a privilege to meet the Areyonga community and see this technology making a real difference.”
AirTrunk’s AVP Social Impact and Community Robert Bartrop said: “At AirTrunk, we believe in using our resources, relationships and reach to create meaningful social and environmental impact. This project demonstrates how sustainable innovation can deliver long-term benefits to communities that need it most.”
Anton Devaratnam, Principal, Areyonga School said: “The partnership with AirTrunk and SOURCE means so much to us. It’s bringing clean, reliable drinking water straight to our school. But more than that, it’s supporting the health of our kids, their learning, and the well-being of the community.”
This solution is one of AirTrunk’s foundation social impact partnership initiatives.
