Mark Barnaba Appointed As Independent Chair

New Chair at the helm as AirTrunk embarks on the next wave of growth accelerated by  artificial intelligence 

Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) hyperscale data centre specialist, AirTrunk, has today announced the appointment of Mr Mark Barnaba as Independent Chair of its Board, effective 24 October 2023. 

Mark brings to the Chair role a wealth of international experience as an entrepreneur, corporate advisor and independent director for organisations across the finance, technology, infrastructure, natural resources, sports administration and education sectors.  

He is the former member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) and is currently Deputy Chairman and Lead Independent Director at Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) and Chairman of Greatland Gold Plc. (LSE:GGP). He co-founded and was Chairman of Azure Capital, and a former Chairman of Alinta Infrastructure Holdings and the West Coast Eagles. 

In 2015, Mark was named a Member of the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the investment banking and financial sector, to business education and to sporting and cultural organisations.

Mark will replace current Chair Ani Satchcroft, Macquarie Asset Management’s Head of Infrastructure for ANZ, who will remain on the board.
