Under our new social impact program, AirTrunk, in partnership with Tokyo Institute of Technology, has established the ‘AirTrunk Scholarship’ for outstanding female students in STEM. We’re also supporting Tokyo Tech’s STEM education programs for elementary, middle, and high school students.
Tokyo Tech, the top national university for science and technology in Japan, shares our goal of increasing women’s participation in STEM, in support of the Japanese government’s Fifth Basic Plan for Gender Equality.
AirTrunk Chief Marketing Officer, Lise Kay and Head of Strategic Development, Japan, Jakob Wetzel visited Tokyo Tech to celebrate the partnership commencement. Lise said:
“In 2023 we announced our commitment to launching a social impact program using margin incentives achieved through our Sustainability Linked Loans. We’re proud to have established our first program in Japan in partnership with Tokyo Tech, to support a pathway for women to have successful careers in STEM fields and educate the next generation of STEM talent in Japan. We look forward to seeing the positive impact on the scholarship recipients and younger generations who will shape the future of the nation.”

AirTrunkは東京工業大学とパートナーシップ組んで、STEM分野の優秀な女子学生を対象とした「AirTrunk奨学金」を創設しました。また、東京工業大学の実施する小・中・高校生を対象とした STEM教育プログラムも支援しています。
「世界最高峰の理工系総合大学」の実現を目指す 東京工業大学は、日本政府の「第5次男女共同参画基本計画」でも言及されている、STEM分野への女性の参画を増やすというAirTrunkの目標を共有しています。
AirTrunkの最高マーケティング責任者（CMO）であるリース・ケイと経営企画部長のヤコブ・ウェッツェルが東京工業大学を訪れ、パートナーシップの開始を祝いました。リースは次のように語った：
「2023年後半に、私たちはサステナビリティ・リンク・ローンによって達成されるマージンインセンティブを利用したソーシャルインパクト・プログラムを立ち上げるというコミットメントを発表しました。東京工業大学とパートナーシップを結び、女性がSTEM分野で成功するための道筋を支援し、日本の次世代のSTEM人材を教育するプログラムを立ち上げることができたことを誇りに思います。奨学生や日本の将来を担う小・中・ 高校生に良い影響が出ることを楽しみにしています。」
