Meet our board members
Mark Barnaba AM
Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair
Mark was appointed Independent Director and Chair of AirTrunk’s Board in October 2023. He is also Chair of the People and Culture Committee.
Mark is the Deputy Chairman and Lead Independent Director at Fortescue Metals Group (ASX: FMG), Chairman of Greatland Gold Plc. (LSE: GGP), and a former member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). He co-founded and was Chairman of Azure Capital and has previously chaired several publicly listed Australian companies within the mining and infrastructure sectors along with non-profit organisations and is former Chair of the State Theatre Company of Western Australia, and the West Coast Eagles Football Club. In 2015, Mark was named a Member of the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the investment banking and financial sector, to business education and to sporting and cultural organisations.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours and University Medal) from the University of Western Australia, an MBA from Harvard Business School (High Distinction; Baker Scholar) and has an Honorary Doctor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
Alison Kitchen AM
Independent Non-Executive Director
Alison was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director of AirTrunk’s Board in May 2024 and is also Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
An experienced Independent Non-Executive Director, Alison serves on the Board of National Australia Bank (NAB) where she is also a member of NAB’s Audit Committee. She is a Director of Worley Limited, the Director and Chair of the Macroeconomic Committee of the Business Council of Australia and Pro Chancellor and Audit Committee Chair of Australian National University.
Alison has more than 30 years’ executive experience across management and governance roles within the KPMG partnership including six years as National Chairman and a member of their global and Asia Pacific Boards, serving as the lead external auditor to a range of ASX listed organisations including ASX top-50 companies.
In 2024 Alison was recognised with a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for ‘significant service to business, governance roles, and the community’.
Fiona Balfour AM
Independent Non-Executive Director
Fiona has been an Independent Non-Executive Director on AirTrunk’s Board since May 2020. She is also Chair of the Safety, Sustainability and Construction Committee and member of the People and Culture Committee.
Fiona is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Telstra PM Holdings Ltd – (the Digicel assets in Papua New Guinea and Fiji) and a Nominee Director for the Public Sector Investment Board of Canada (PSPIB) at each of Land Services South Australia and Land Services Western Australia.
Fiona was formerly a Chief Information Officer at two top-40 ASX organisations and has significant expertise in the Aviation sector, Information and Telecommunication Services, and Distribution and Logistics. In 2023, Fiona was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) – General Member Division – for services to Corporate Governance and the Aviation Sector.
Ani Satchcroft
Non-Executive Investor Director
Ani joined AirTrunk’s Board as a Non-Executive Investor Director in April 2020. She chaired AirTrunk’s Board from 2022 to 2023 and is currently a member of the People and Culture Committee.
As the Co-Head of Infrastructure for Asia-Pacific at Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), Ani has led major acquisitions in Australia and New Zealand across various infrastructure sectors. She sits on the board of a number of MAM portfolio companies, including VicRoads and Vocus Group. Prior to joining MAM, Ani worked for several infrastructure fund managers in London and Sydney. She has a Bachelor of Commerce/Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Business Administration (High Distinction) from Harvard Business School.
Verena Lim
Non-Executive Investor Director
Verena joined AirTrunk’s Board as a Non-Executive Investor Director in April 2020. She is also a member of the People and Culture and Audit and Risk Committees.
Verena is the Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Group Asia, the Co-head of Asia-Pacific of Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) Infrastructure, and the Head of Investments for the Macquarie Asia-Pacific Infrastructure Fund (MAIF) series. She is Chair of Macquarie’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee in Asia, a member of the Macquarie Group Foundation Committee, and Chair of the Macquarie Group Foundation’s Social Impact Investment Advisory Committee.
Sandiren Curthan
Non-Executive Investor Director
Sandiren joined AirTrunk’s Board as Non-Executive Investor Director in April 2021.
Sandiren is Managing Director and Global Head of Infrastructure Investments at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments). He joined the organisation in July 2011 and was most recently Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific, Infrastructure Investments, and part of the Infrastructure Group’s senior leadership.
Sandiren has significant experience in leading origination, execution, and asset management of minority/majority equity investments across infrastructure sectors in developed and emerging markets. Since 2017, he has developed, led and implemented PSP Investments’ infrastructure strategy in Asia-Pacific and he currently sits on the boards of AirTrunk and Vena Energy.
Prior to PSP Investments, Sandiren worked in investment banking and infrastructure advisory at BNP Paribas, PwC, and Bank of Montreal in both Europe and Canada.
Robin Khuda
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AIRTRUNK FOUNDER AND CEO
Robin is Executive Director of AirTrunk’s Board and is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AirTrunk. He has led AirTrunk to be the largest and fastest growing hyperscale data centre company in Asia-Pacific & Japan (excl. China).
In 2023 Robin was recognised as one of The Australian Financial Review’s Business People of the Year.
Prior to founding AirTrunk, Robin held leadership roles at large high-growth technology companies including: NEXTDC, PIPE Networks, Fujitsu, SingTel Optus, and Cheung Kong Communications Group.
Robin received his MBA from Manchester Business School, UK, with a specialisation in Finance. He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and received his Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Alexandra Canipel
Group Company Secretary
Alexandra was appointed Company Secretary of AirTrunk’s Board in April 2023.
She has a wealth of experience in corporate governance with large financial services organisations (listed and unlisted) across the Asia-Pacific region. Alexandra was previously a Company Secretary at ClearView Group Limited, Macquarie Group Limited, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Fidelity International. She is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and Chartered Governance Institute, London.
