AirTrunk’s A$4.6 billion Sustainability Linked Loan (SLL) has been awarded the ‘Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year’ award by The Asset, as part of their Triple A Awards 2024.
The multi-award-winning SLL set a number of industry benchmarks in sustainable financing, including the largest by a data centre operator globally as well as a range of firsts for its loan KPIs across carbon, energy, water and gender. It was also the first to use margin incentives to fund social impact programs across Asia-Pacific.
“We’re humbled to receive this further recognition for our landmark transaction and we hope that our innovative approach will encourage other organisations to adopt sustainable financing including challenging targets that drive real change and impact,” says AirTrunk Chief Financial & Commercial Officer, Prashant Murthy.
“We’re also amplifying our impact by investing the SLL margin incentives into social impact programs. We have already announced our STEM education partnership with Tokyo Institute of Technology, and will be announcing more partnerships focused on making a positive impact across Equal Digital Access, Biodiversity & Conservation and Sustainable Innovation.”
